കോഴിക്കോട്: റെയില്വേ ട്രാക്ക് മുറിച്ചുകടക്കുന്നതിനിടെ വയോധിക ട്രെയിനിടിച്ച് മരിച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട് എലത്തൂര് പടിഞ്ഞാറെ തെക്കിടുത്താം വീട്ടില് സുമിത്ര(68) യാണ് മരിച്ചത്. രാവിലെ പത്തോടെ കോരപ്പുഴ സ്കൂളിന് സമീപത്തെ റെയില്വേ ട്രാക്കിലാണ് അപകടം നടന്നത്. ഇതുവഴി എത്തിയ സുമിത്ര റെയില് പാളം മുറിച്ചുകടക്കുന്നതിനിടെ ട്രെയിനിടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ദൃക്സാക്ഷികള് പറഞ്ഞു. പോലിസ് സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി ഇന്ക്വസ്റ്റ് നടപടികള്ക്ക് ശേഷം മൃതദേഹം കോഴിക്കോട് മെഡിക്കല് കോളേജ് ആശുപത്രി മോര്ച്ചറിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി.
A 68-year-old woman named Sumithra was killed after being hit by a train while crossing the railway track near Korappuzha School in Elathur, Kozhikode. The incident occurred around 10 AM on Friday. Eyewitnesses stated that the woman failed to notice the approaching train while crossing the tracks. Police completed the inquest and shifted the body to the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary. Authorities have reiterated the importance of using designated crossings to avoid such tragic accidents.
