കൊച്ചി: കളമശ്ശേരി എച്ച്എംടി കോളനിയിലെ സോഫാ നിർമാണ യൂണിറ്റിൽ വൻ തീപ്പിടിത്തം. രാത്രി എട്ടു മണിയോടെ പടർന്ന തീ അണയ്ക്കാൻ നാല് ഫയർ യൂണിറ്റുകൾ ശ്രമം തുടരുകയാണ്. എളുപ്പത്തിൽ തീപിടിക്കുന്ന വസ്തുക്കൾ യൂണിറ്റിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നിലവിൽ ആളപായമില്ല.
എട്ടു മണിയോടെയാണ് തീ ആദ്യം ശ്രദ്ധയിൽപ്പെട്ടത്. ഉടൻതന്നെ പ്രദേശവാസികൾ അഗ്നിരക്ഷാ സേനയെ വിവരം അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. സോഫാ നിർമാണത്തിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന വേഗത്തിൽ തീപിടിക്കാൻ സാധ്യതയുള്ള വസ്തുക്കൾ യൂണിറ്റിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാൽ തീ വേഗത്തിൽ ആളിപ്പടരുകയായിരുന്നു.
അഗ്നിരക്ഷാ സേനയുടെ നാല് യൂണിറ്റുകൾ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി തീ അണയ്ക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങൾ തുടരുകയാണ്. നാല് യൂണിറ്റുകൾ ഒരേസമയം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ തീ വേഗത്തിൽ നിയന്ത്രണ വിധേയമാക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അഗ്നിശമനാസേനാ വിഭാഗം അറിയിച്ചു.
A major fire broke out at a sofa manufacturing unit named Home Design in the HMT Colony, Kalamassery, Kochi, on Monday night (February 2, 2026). The fire, which started around 8:00 PM, spread rapidly due to the presence of highly flammable materials used for sofa production. Four fire units arrived at the scene and have been working to bring the blaze under control.
